  1. Good one. Appreciate your effort. One more to the list please.
Vijayalaya Choleeswaram - at Naarathamalai, Perumbalur Dist, by Vijayalaya Cholan (probably it was started by the mutharayar king whom he overthrew and later Vijayalayar must have finished it)

  3. Hi Vinod,

Thanks for your contribution. I researched some more and found that Kambhareeswarar Temple was built by Kulothunga I not III. I have not found any information specific to SaatchiNathar Temple. If you have any source which can verify about Saatchinathar temple, please let me know. Again I really appreciate your help.

  8. THIS IS REALLY A WONDERFUL RESEARCH. THESE TEMPLES ARE TO BE MAINTIAINED AS PER RULES OF AAGAMA SASTRS--LIKE DOING KUMBAPISHEKAM ONCE IN 12 YRS ETC. WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NAASTHIKAS AS RULERS, HOW THIS IS TO BE DONE IS BIG QUESTION. THESE TEMPLES SHOULD BE HANDED OVER TO SOME HINDU ORGANISATION. GOVT CAN VERIFY ACCOUNTS AND DO AUDITING. BUT ACTUAL MAINTENANCE SHOULD BE WITH THE ORGANISATION.

  12. Sir, It is a good collection about the temples and the Chola kings who support them. One and all should know that most of the Hindu temples in this world either SIVA / VISHNU covered by THE GREAT CHOLA DYNASTY either directly or indirectly. THIER CONTRIBUTION TO THE HINDU CULTURE IS HIGHLY GLORIFIED AND UNACCOUNTABLE. AFTER ATTENDING MANY SEMINARS, TALKS, COMPUTER VISUAL PORTRAITS BY GREAT INDIAN ARCHIALOGISTS LIKE NAGASAMY, KODAVASAL BALASUBRAMANIAN, H.H SWAMI DAYANANDA SARASWATI I LEARNED THAT ALL THE GODS IN THE HINDU RELIGION WERE VERY MUCH ENJOYED AND TEMPLES WERE IN HIGH POSIION ONLY IN THE CHOLA PERIOD. WE ALL AS HINDUS SHOULD FOLLOW THE CHOLAS AND MAINTIAN ALL HINDU TEMPLES IN THE GOOD CONDITION WITHOUT FAIL. WHEN EVER I SAW A TALL AND HIGH GOPURAM OF THE TEMPLE I REMEMBER THE GREAT SERVICE OF OUR CHOLAS TO THE HINDUS ALL OVER THE WORLD.

    THANKS

By the way I was looking for the details about this temple, and I found that Vekkaliamman temple was built by Gochnkanan Chola. Thanks again

  20. I just looked again at your blog. To answer: Thirutanthoneeswarar K. has fine Bhutamalas, two gorgeous dvarapalakas [unfortunately painted bronze!] and a fine S. RshabhaArdhanareshwara at the west end of the temple. That's all I remember clearly. If you know Shriram Rajaram, he's been there too, and is from Thiruchi.
It took 3 visits to Thiruchi to find it, almost noone knows of its existence. But we Found it 11/10!! yeahhhh!
